A Critter of The Week shout out to Mākara Peak Supporters, a dedicated group working hand-in-hand with Wellington City Council, have transformed this 250-hectare area into a lush, green sanctuary that offers over 45 kilometers of trails for mountain bikers, walkers, and runners alike. Funds from #CrittersOfTheWeek have supported their often varied and vital work—from planting thousands of native trees to setting up pest control measures that protect the burgeoning wildlife.
