Innovation in Action: Joyya’s Local Sales Project

Something we hold dear here at Joyya is our heart to empower our people to be more than just makers. Through hands-on projects like this local sales initiative, employees gain valuable skills in product development, sales, and teamwork, strengthening both their future and Joyya’s impact. 

But let’s give this a bit of context: While much of the world was winding down for the holiday season, the team at Joyya was ramping up creativity. With a gap in orders, we saw an opportunity to try something new—an innovative local sales project that brought together every level of our manufacturing process. 

We started by engaging in discussions about sales, new products, and ideas for expanding our range— similar to how we developed our Joyya Undies! But this time, we took it a step further. 

Dividing into 20 teams, each group included members from all areas—sewing, cutting, admin, logistics, and procurement. Their first task? Pick a team name. Their second? Develop a product idea specifically for the local market. 

With enthusiasm and ingenuity, the teams brainstormed, sourced materials, and created product samples. They then tested, refined, gave each other feedback and finally launched their items in their local communities, seeing firsthand what it takes to bring a new product to life. 

Anima has been part of a team that has made Kurtis.  She says that being involved in this project has been really exciting; “We have learnt a lot of skills at Joyya and it has been good to put these skills to use in thinking of other products that could help our business”. 

Some products sold out on day one, while others are still being fine-tuned, but one thing is clear—this project has not only sparked fresh ideas for Joyya’s future but has also equipped our staff with valuable skills in production, sales, and innovation.
